Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested and charged Derrick Randall Jr., 36, with the first-degree murder of Brandi Merrick, 37.
Merrick, a mother of three, was last seen on June 8. Authorities now believe she is deceased.
Randall was taken into custody on July 31, more than seven weeks after Merrick was reported missing.
The investigation into Merrick’s disappearance and suspected death is ongoing. As of the latest reports, Brandi Merrick’s body has not yet been recovered.
