Prime Data Centers, a leading international developer and operator of hyperscale and purpose-built data centers, today announced the release of its 2026 Sustainability Report, highlighting progress across energy efficiency, water stewardship, climate risk management and responsible business practices.

Now in its third year, the annual report details Prime’s approach across three core areas: protecting our environment, serving our communities and living our values. This year’s report also expands the company’s focus on measurement, risk management and transparency as growing demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and high-performance computing drives continued expansion of digital infrastructure.

Key developments highlighted in the 2026 Sustainability Report include:

  • Climate: Prime matched 100% of its 2025 Scope 2 electricity consumption with renewable energy certificates (RECs). Combined with customers’ clean energy procurement, 68% of electricity consumption across Prime’s 2025 U.S. operating portfolio was covered by clean energy.

  • Energy Efficiency: Prime’s Dallas and Sacramento data centers earned U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ENERGY STAR® certification, placing both among the top 25% of U.S. data centers for energy performance.

  • Water: Closed-loop cooling contributed to a company-wide Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) of near-zero. Prime also purchased water credits equal to 120% of water withdrawals from its operating data centers in 2025.

  • Climate risk management: Prime completed its first formal climate risk assessment, examining physical and transition risks across its global portfolio and multiple climate scenarios.

  • Responsible operations: Prime further integrated sustainability into procurement, design and construction through documents including contract exhibits and specifications, while expanding programs focused on employee safety, giving and community engagement.

Alongside the Sustainability Report, Prime released its first report aligned with recommendations from the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). This leading environmental, social, governance (ESG) framework supports disclosure of climate strategies, risks and opportunities in a comparable format, allowing stakeholders to better understand how companies are addressing the critical issue of climate change.

Prime currently has 5.6 GW of operational and planned capacity across 14 campuses and 29 projects in 16 markets throughout North America and Europe.
