AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — TMF Health Quality Institute, a leading nonprofit healthcare consulting company, elected Eddie L. Patton Jr., MD, MS, MBA, FAAN, chair at the TMF Board of Trustees meeting this month and installed a slate of new officers.

Newly elected Chair, Dr. Eddie Patton is a clinical assistant professor in the department of neurosurgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Patton earned a Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Rice University, Jones School of Business in Houston, and a Master of Science in Biology from Alabama State University in Montgomery. He served as a neurologist in Houston for 10 years before starting his own consultancy in 2019. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Dr. Patton is also on the boards of directors for Ucardia and the Houston Community College Foundation. He has served on the board of the Texas Neurological Society (TNS) since 2011 and is the current president of TNS. Dr. Patton joined the TMF board in August 2022.
Glenn Robinson, MS, FACHE, will serve as vice chair. Mr. Robinson has more than 30 years of hospital and healthcare management experience and is board certified in healthcare management. He served as president of the Waco, Texas, region of Baylor Scott & White Health from 2007 to 2020. Upon his retirement from his role as president, Mr. Robinson launched Pacer Consultants, LLC, which specializes in leadership coaching and consulting for healthcare organizations throughout the country. He teaches in the MBA program at Baylor University and serves as an adjunct lecturer for Trinity University in San Antonio. Additionally, he works as a consultant for Baker Tilly, an international financial and accounting advisory firm.
Tim Lowry, CFP®, ChFC®, will serve as secretary/treasurer. Mr. Lowry is co-owner, partner and vice president/chief operating officer of Dean, Jacobson Financial Services, LLC. He specializes in investment management, comprehensive financial planning and wealth management. He is responsible for investment research for the firm and heads the firm’s Investment Allocations and Portfolio Models Committee. In this role, Mr. Lowry oversees ongoing research for the firm’s investment policies and strategies. He also sets target allocations for the firm’s model portfolios. As an advisor, he works with clients in all aspects of financial planning and wealth management, including investments, retirement, estate, tax and insurance.
Janet Marie Lieto, DO, FACOFP, CMD, CPPS, was re-elected and will continue to serve as officer at large. Dr. Lieto is the director of Health Systems Science, Leadership and Innovation at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. Dr. Lieto has earned numerous honors and awards for her teaching and curriculum development throughout her career. Most recently, she helped develop a patient safety course at TCOM designed to prepare students for the Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS™) examination—the only course of its kind in the country. Dr. Lieto has been a Master Trainer for TEAMSTEPPS Interprofessional Education since 2014; she is also a scholar in the American Medical Association’s Health Systems Science Academy Scholars Program. Dr. Lieto earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Lieto joined the TMF board in August 2022.
Betty Wharton, MS, CEN, APRN-CNS, was re-elected and will continue to serve in her role as non-physician officer at large. Ms. Wharton is the director of Choctaw Nation’s Healthy Aging program and an adjunct for instruction and clinical education in Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Nursing Department. She is also a National Council Licensure Examination specialist for registered nurse and licensed practical nurse reviews nationwide. Mrs. Wharton serves with Network 13, Patients, Practices, and Academic Resource Team for New Evidence from Research (PARTNERS) and the Advisory Council for the Eastern Oklahoma State College Nursing Department. She has served on numerous boards throughout her career, including as a longtime member of the Eastern Oklahoma State College Alumni Board. Additionally, she has been selected to serve on numerous task forces developed by the governors of Oklahoma to improve healthcare and health promotion in Oklahoma. Mrs. Wharton holds a Master of Science in Nursing: Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of Oklahoma. Mrs. Wharton has served on the TMF board since 2021.
Gayle Semtner, MEd, was re-elected to chair the Operations Committee. Ms. Semtner represents Medicare beneficiaries on the TMF Board of Trustees. She has served as the community development specialist for the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Prior to that, Ms. Semtner was the program manager for the Aging and Disabilities Resource Consortium with the Aging Services Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, directing all aspects of the program and strategically planning long-range program development.
