US Power Helps Pasadena Homeowners Navigate New PWP Solar and Battery Rebate Program

Company guides customers through eligibility and application for the city utility’s residential solar and storage incentives.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — US Power, a solar and roofing brokerage that has served California homeowners since 2022, announced today that it is helping Pasadena homeowners take advantage of the Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) Solar and Battery Rebate Pilot Program, which the city utility launched on April 2, 2026, and which applies to qualifying systems installed on or after January 1, 2026.

Under the program, PWP residential electric customers are eligible for a rebate of $0.60 per watt on a new, permanent rooftop solar system, or $1.00 per watt for customers enrolled in one of PWP’s income-qualified bill payment assistance programs. Customers who add battery storage can receive up to $550 per kilowatt-hour, combining a standard $350 per kilowatt-hour rebate with an additional $200 per kilowatt-hour available to income-qualified or Medical Assistance Program participants. PWP is also waiving plan review and inspection fees for solar and battery projects during the pilot program.

The rebate applies only to systems that are purchased and owned by the homeowner — leased systems and those installed through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) do not qualify. US Power says that distinction is one of the most common points of confusion it hears from Pasadena customers evaluating their options.

“A lot of homeowners assume every financing path qualifies for these rebates, and that’s not the case here — ownership structure matters,” said Erik Sords, Senior Energy Consultant at US Power. “Our team walks Pasadena customers through which of their financing options actually line up with the PWP rebate, so they know exactly what they’re eligible for before they sign anything.”

The rebate comes as more Pasadena homeowners look to pair solar with battery storage. Under California’s NEM 3.0 rules, homeowners are compensated less for exporting solar energy to the grid than for storing and using it themselves, making battery attachment an increasingly central part of system design in PWP’s service territory as in the rest of the state. PWP’s battery rebate also requires customers to enroll in the utility’s first applicable demand response or virtual power plant program for at least 36 months once that program launches, a commitment US Power says it reviews with customers as part of the application process.

US Power says it will continue to help Pasadena customers apply for the PWP rebate alongside its factory-direct pricing through its partnership with Axia by Qcells, as well as any applicable state and federal incentives still in place for battery storage.
