Mood Media, the world’s leading in-store experience company and a Vector Capital (“Vector”) portfolio company, today announced the appointment of Roy Kosuge as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 5, 2026. Mr. Kosuge succeeds Malcolm McRoberts, who has led the company since 2021 and will remain a Senior Advisor and member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Kosuge brings a proven track record of building technology-focused businesses and delivering profitable growth. He joins Mood Media from SONIFI Solutions, a tech-enabled managed services provider serving more than 1 million rooms across the hospitality, healthcare and senior living sectors, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2023. In this role, he carried executive P&L responsibility for the business spanning sales, marketing, customer success, service delivery, technical support and field operations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Kosuge held senior operating and leadership roles across a range of global technology-enabled hardware and services companies. He began his career at Universal Music Group, where he helped develop pioneering digital music business models. He holds an A.B. from Harvard University.
“We are thrilled to welcome an executive of Roy’s caliber to Mood Media. He has spent his career scaling businesses that look a great deal like ours: recurring revenue, strong technology, and thousands of customer locations that depend on it working every day,” said Sandy Gill, Managing Director at Vector Capital and member of Mood Media’s Board of Directors. “He understands content economics, enterprise deployment, and high-touch service delivery, which is a rare combination and exactly what Mood’s next chapter of growth calls for. On behalf of the entire company and the board, I also want to thank Malcolm for his leadership through an unprecedented period for this company and for re-establishing Mood Media as the global leader in multisensory on-premise experiences.”
“Mood Media has distinguished itself through its established global footprint, deep customer relationships and exceptionally talented people,” said Mr. Kosuge. “Consumers are craving real world experiences and connections, and most purchases still happen in physical spaces. We have a great opportunity in front of us to help brands and operators create engagement and drive commerce in those moments. I am grateful to Malcolm for his partnership through this transition, and I look forward to building on the team’s momentum.”
“Physical spaces are where brands earn loyalty, and Mood Media has never been better positioned to help them do it,” said Mr. McRoberts. “Over the past five years, our team reinvented the company around a unified cloud platform, developed new solutions, deepened customer partnerships and created new ways to connect brands to their customers. I look forward to supporting the leadership team, and I want to thank Mood Media and Vector for making this possible.”
