Livermore, CA – Fountainhead Montessori School of Livermore is expanding opportunities for young children to develop Spanish language skills through a Montessori-based immersion environment. Designed for children ages 2.5 to 6, the program offers a Spanish-speaking classroom led by native Spanish speakers. The approach integrates language exposure into purposeful activities, social interaction, and established Montessori principles.

The early childhood Spanish immersion program creates a multi-age community where children can develop language skills while exploring a prepared Montessori classroom. Younger children have opportunities to learn by observing older classmates, while older children can strengthen their skills by taking leadership roles. The program is designed to support children over a three-year period and encourage order, concentration, coordination, and independence.

Language learning is incorporated throughout the classroom experience rather than presented as a separate subject. Children participate in songs, poems, stories, games, classroom demonstrations, and conversations in Spanish. They also practice asking and responding to questions, following multi-step directions, telling simple stories, requesting help, and communicating with classmates. This approach is intended to create natural opportunities for children to hear and use Spanish during everyday activities.

The Spanish immersion Montessori program also incorporates the core areas of the Montessori curriculum. Children engage with practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, cultural subjects, science, art, and music. Self-directed work allows each child to select purposeful activities with teacher guidance. Daily experiences also encourage grace and courtesy, care of self and the environment, problem-solving, turn-taking, and collaboration in individual and group settings.

Fountainhead Montessori School of Livermore places additional emphasis on physical, social, and creative development. Children participate in playground activities, movement games, songs, running, walking, and climbing. Classroom experiences support healthy routines and body awareness. Creative opportunities include music, representational drawing, and exploration of different lands and cultures. The afternoon program operates from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with optional childcare available afterward.

The program builds on the broader educational philosophy of Fountainhead Montessori School of Livermore. Its Montessori approach recognizes each child as an individual and emphasizes hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning. The curriculum is reality-based and uses accurate language and materials whenever possible.

Families interested in the Spanish immersion classroom can observe the learning environment to gain a clearer understanding of the curriculum and determine whether the approach is appropriate for their child. Fountainhead Montessori School of Livermore encourages families to explore its classrooms and learn more about how Montessori education and sustained Spanish exposure can work together to support communication, independence, relationships, and purposeful early learning.
