Whether it is hearing songbirds where there was once silence, seeing pollinators return to native plants, or noticing increased wildlife activity across a property, Osgood says these changes often indicate that an ecosystem is recovering as intended.

“When wildlife starts coming back, it usually means you’ve created healthier conditions across the property,” says Osgood. “Birds, pollinators, and other native species respond to improvements that aren’t always obvious to the human eye. They’re telling you the land is functioning the way it should.”
