What Is The Investigation About?
On August 20, 2026, The Bear Cave published a report alleging, among other things, that Guggenheim’s Strategic Opportunities Fund’s monthly distribution of $0.18/share, over 20% annualized on Net Asset Value, is funded in large part by selling new shares at a premium to NAV rather than by portfolio earnings alone. However, the Company’s premium to NAV has now compressed to a discount, in part because of a federal investigation into Guggenheim’s CEO, Mark Walters.
